A never-before-seen footage of late Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe from her 1955 romantic comedy film The Seven Year Itch has been released in which her iconic scene where her white cocktail dress gets buffeted up to her waist, can be seen. On September 15, 1954, director Billy Wilder and Monroe were scheduled to shoot the scene on a New York sidewalk. However, the crowd of journalists and onlookers, including Monroe’s then husband Joe DiMaggio who famously hated the dress and rowed with the actress after shooting, grew so great and rowdy that they were forced to re-shoot the actual scene on the 20th Century Fox lot.
Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor, whose autobiography Khullam Khulla: Uncensored hit stands on January 15, visited the famous Tirupati temple to seek blessing for success of the new book. The book's title has been borrowed from the 64-year-old actor's famous song “Khullam Khulla Pyar Karenge Hum Dono”. Taking to Twitter to share a photograph from his Tirupati visit, Rishi wrote, "Tirupati. With friends Subba Rao and Jairam this afternoon. Presented my first copy to the Lord. Feel Blessed!" Talking about the upcoming autobiography, Rishi had earlier said that whatever is in the book comes straight from his heart.
Shabana Azmi, who along with Smita Patil, Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah helped the Indian New Wave in the 1970s with brilliant portrayals, has been nominated for the Asian Film Awards as one of the five actresses in a supporting role in Neerja. The work recalls in a fiction feature the tragic killing of a Pan Am stewardess, Neerja Bhanot, during a Libyanbacked hijack at Karachi airport in 1986. The Awards - which will this year take place in Hong Kong to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the territory’s handover -- will be announced on March 21. For the past three years, Macau had been the venue. Other than Azmi’s, Indian cinema, despite being miles and miles ahead of the other Asian nations in movie production, has not been able to garner any nomination.
