Lub-rref (Bangladesh) and Western Marine Services Sign MoU

Lub-rref (Bangladesh) Limited has taken the initiative to set up a hundred thousand metric ton capacity tank terminal, along with a berth operating jetty, across the Karnaphuli river in Chittagong. This facility will be one of the biggest of its kind in Bangladesh and it will be treated as an independent storage terminal where customers can store and transship several types of petroleum oils and fuels, CDSO and chemicals. In this regard, a contract signing ceremony was held between Lub-rref (Bangladesh) Limited and Western Marine Services Limited (WMSL) on April 12, in Chittagong.

Eng. Ali Ahmed, former president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industries; Eng. Enamul Baqui, former managing director of Chittagong Dry Dock; and Moniruzzaman, chairman, NRB Equity Management Ltd. and former chairman of BASIC, were present as special guests. Captain Sohail Hasan, chairman, Md. Sakhawat Hossain, vice chairman, Abu Md. Fazle Rashid, managing director of WMSL, and Mohammed Yousuf, managing director Lubrref (Bangladesh) Ltd., along with other high officials and distinguished guests, were also present at the event. The tank terminal and jetty will be constructed as per API-650 code, and state-of-the-art green and safe technology will be used in the operation. The jetty will be capable of berthing 10-15 thousand MT capacity Marine Vessels, with both land and river connectivity for storage, loading and unloading of petroleum, CDSO, and chemical products.
